NEW NURSE MANAGER/ADMINISTRATOR APPOINTMENT: October 2017- The owner of Columbine Caregivers is pleased to announce that Sherri Fuller RN has accepted the role recently vacated with the retirement of Kathi McVern. Sherri has been a long time resident of the Grand Valley. As a young adult Sherri worked as a coal miner in one of the (now closed) coal mines east of Palisade, she left that career and went to college and became an RN. She has worked in a variety of nursing and nurse management roles in the area before joining Columbine Caregivers. Feel free to call Sherri to get acquainted or with questions or comments. Kathi McVern RN has announced her intention to retire and will be relocating to a warmer climate. Ms. McVern has been a tremendous asset to the clients and employees of Columbine Caregivers- thank you Kathi for sharing your many talents with us!
Columbine Caregivers was founded in 1989 in Grand Junction, Colorado for the purpose of providing senior citizen assistance and in home care to residents of Western Colorado. Columbine Caregivers is recognized as one of the finest sources of in-home care in Western Colorado, having provided assistance to area families for over twenty years.
Michael and Paula McCormick have owned and operated Columbine Caregivers since the spring of 2007, when they purchased it from its founder. Michael started his career in health care in 1980, with his assignment to Ft. Carson Army Hospital in Colorado Springs. After completing his military commitment, Michael became an administrator of senior retirement communities and nursing centers Michael is a member of the Grand Junction Downtown Rotary Club and is on the Board of Directors of the Grand Junction Symphony Foundation.
Paula has been a gerontological social worker since 1985. She obtained her Master's degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and is a licensed social worker in the State of Colorado . Paula has assisted clients in many settings: long-term care; hospice; home health and rehabilitation. Paula is also an active member of the Mesa County Elder Abuse Prevention Council.
